Travel Brussels Under $100 – Brussels Travel Guide 2021

Brussels might be the home to the European Union, but it is indeed an amazing place to visit if you know how to scratch underneath the surface and look for places to hang out at. However, I know how expensive the city is because of all the Parliament’s who’s who hanging here. But, just like always, the challenge is accepted. Let’s take you on a day in Brussels under $100.

HOW TO VISIT BRUSSELS UNDER $100?

Duration

The best duration to visit this city is for a maximum of two days, so we get you covered in one day today. It is always raining in Brussels, even if it doesn’t look like it. Therefore, the weather is cloudy and quite unpredictable. The late March to May and September to October are the best months to visit.

Accommodation

There are a lot of decent hostel options for backpackers and those in the budget. You will be able to find a few in your budget as well, but keep a minimum of 27$ in your mind for one night. Hostel World is your best choice because you can only stay in a hostel in this budget as hotels will be completely out of your pocket. You can also try Couchsurfing to stay at a decent place with a good local and that too for free.

Transportation in Brussels

The public transportation is your only option, but don’t worry, Brussels has really good trains, trams, buses, and subway network. A single ride will cost you $2.7 and a five-journey pass will be for $8.9. Buy a complete day pass as it is for $4.7 only. You can also rent a bike for $4.

Food & Drinks

You can find waffles, chocolate, and fries for cheap anywhere. Otherwise, croquet (grilled sandwiches), and Moules Frites (mussels and fries) should be your meal of choice. Try grocery and department stores for cheap meals so you can cover yourself for around $25 a day.

Brussels is also the beer capital of the world, with over 2000 kinds of beer. This means, you will easily be able to find a drink within your budget, so go to the old-school cellars and party houses and try one for yourself.

Sightseeing

Start with the free walking tour so you can cover most of the famous places, as you do not have a lot of budgets to sightsee a lot. You can visit the Grand Palace to see the beautiful architecture, St. Michael and St. Gugula Cathedral, Royal Army & Military History Museum (free entrance), Parc Leopold and Square Marie Louise Plein (must-visit for all the Brussels fun) among others. You should also see the Parliament House from the outside too.

This was my guide on how you can cover Brussels under $100 in a day, and I am sure I have given you a solid plan because when I say challenge accepted, I do accept it. So follow my Brussels travel guide 2021 and have fun!
